Gli aerei intercettati sono stati scortati dai caccia Usa fuori dall'area. «La nostra priorità assoluta - afferma il Norad in una nota - è quella della difesa della sicurezza del Canada e degli Stati Uniti». Si tratta di schermaglie frequenti che puntano anche a testare i tempi di reazione degli avversari, anche se questa volta il numero di velivoli coinvolti nello stesso teatro è assai alto.
